The Walton Financial Group in Barrie provides advice to individuals regarding key elements of a Will in the financial planning process

A Will ,along with Life insurance are two pillars of an effective financial plan

Having a will in place now. is one of those things you can so easily put off. Don’t! Getting a will drafted and signed is generally not costly, and it’s the simplest document among the ones in broad use for financial and estate planning.

If you have a will now , the circumstances of the pandemic make it more important than ever to review and update it . There’s no set schedule for
this but the Covid-19 issue underscores its importance.

Whenever things change in normal circumstances —births, marriages, divorces, graduations, etc.—look at what you wanted last time and see if you still feel the same. Even though you think that nothing’s changed, if you haven’t looked over your will for three years, it’s almost certainly time for a review.

Consider having a Living Will which articulate what your wishes are with respect to your care in case you aren’t capable of making decisions for yourself. It includes whomever you want to make those decisions for you in those circumstances.

You may also want to add trusts to your will.

The team of financial advisers at the Walton Financial Group in Barrie have expertise in all aspect of financial planning and will assist you in laying out the financial aspects of your will before you consult with your lawyer
